A bit about us:

Meet Coach Elizabeth

Coaching Qualifications: Swim England Artistic Swimming Coach of the year 2023; ASA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Aquatics; ASA Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Synchronised Swimming; Active IQ Level 2 Award in Instructing Water-based Exercise;  STA Level 2 Award in Safety Award for Teachers and she is a member of the Swimming Teachers’ Association.

Coaching experience: I’ve worked with swimmers who have a range of experiences: from those who have never swum before, to those building confidence in the water, to developing people’s stroke techniques so they’re moving efficiently in the water and to those who want to develop their fitness.  With my artistic swimming background, I have good attention to detail for technique.

Swimming ExperienceAs a child I was a synchronised swimmer, competing in the team event at nationals. After many years out of the water, I started training again in Venezuela and took up open water racing,  working up to competing in the Paso del nado race (across the meeting of the Caroni and Orinoco rivers) where I came 3rd in my age group (& won £60!). Returning to the UK, I took up artistic swimming again and have competed in the National Masters competition since 2019,winning bronze in the team event and silver in the solo event.

Swimming aims: To transfer my love of open water swimming to colder waters and compete in a race in 2022.

What do some of Elizabeth’s swimmers say about her?

🏊🏻‍♂️ I have thoroughly enjoyed lessons with Elizabeth as she gives great attention to detail and is very methodological. Working through the basics she gives personalised lessons/advice based on how you are doing which is great. I am looking forward to continuing learning from the best!

🏊🏽‍♀️ Elizabeth is a fantastic swimming teacher with a lot of experience. Always goes above and beyond to help teach her learner. Good teaching technique, great listener and always helps build confidence in the water.

🏊🏿‍♂️ Elizabeth has been my swim teacher for about a month, and I’ve made fast progress under her tutelage. Her teaching style is very approachable – her feedback is always constructive and balanced, and she’s able to simplify swimming concepts so that beginners can understand them. I was initially quite anxious about swimming, but her patience and encouragement has helped me to improve dramatically – I’m able to do front crawl and backstroke, and I’m making steady progress on breast stroke too.
